How to make popcorn cupcakes!

DIY Popcorn Cupcakes!

Popcorn cupcakes!

Follow these easy steps and create easy and fun cupcakes that are an essential to the party. We created these cupcakes for my sister's Movie Night Theme Party! They were so perfect, and delicious. It's very inexpensive to add this to your party, so let's get started!

Materials you'll need!

- Mini Marshmallows

- Funfetti Cupcake Mix (or whatever cupcake mix you'd lik, make sure you have all the

ingredients you need to bake them, usually it's eggs, water and oil)

- Baking Cups (I got the red & white striped ones from hobby lobby, this gives the cupcakes

a popcorn bag look)

- White Frosting

- Scissors

You're Ready!

Step 1 - Bake The Cupcakes!

Grab the Funfetti box, collect those extra ingredients you need (eggs, oil & water) and get started baking!

Don't forget to place the baking cups on the cupcake tray and then place your cake batter in them.

Here is the link to purchase the baking cups I got: https://www.hobbylobby.com/Party-Baking/Themed-Party-Collections/Carnival/Red-White-Striped-Baking-Cups/p/53019

Step 2 - Putting Frosting On Cupcakes

Once your cupcakes are baked you will have to give them some time to cool off. This will make frosting the cupcakes a lot easier. I frosted the cupcakes about 8 hours after they were baked.

When you're frosting the cupcakes, ensure that you are fully frosting the top so all you can see is white. This will make the cupcakes look prettier once you place marshmallows over them!

Step 3 - Marshmallow or "Popcorn" time

Now it's time to prepare your marshmallows. You don't want to place the marshmallows just over the cupcake, you want to give them a popcorn look. In this step, you'll grab the cupcakes and do a small cut with your scissors on the top part, creating a V shape at the top. It's like you're cutting the marshmallow in half but only halfway down. Hope that makes sense, you can refer to pictures to see how that looks like!

Step 4 - "POP" it all together!

Now that you're cupcake is frosted and your marshmallows are cut you are ready to put it all together. Start on the outer side of the cupcake and begin going in a circle working your way in. The marshmallow should have no problem sticking to the frosting. Sooner than you know, you'll have a popcorn cupcake ready to go!

Have fun making these delicious cupcakes!!

Have fun creating!
